Patagonia Experience with Exclusive Access by Water:

Majestic glaciers - Remote wildlife - Unique landscapes - Untouched nature - Mythical milestones such as Cape Horn, The Drake Passage, Strait of Magellan & Beagle Channel.

Patagonia is a beautiful place filled with adventure. Home to the snow-capped peaks of the Andes and the crystal clear waters of the Seven Lakes, the Patagonian landscape is awe-inspiring. There’s so much to see and do – so whatever your age or ability, there’s certain to be something a for everyone. The family activities Patagonia has on offer are hugely varied. So, whether you want to explore the Patagonian wilderness, go around in kayaks, or trot on horse or ponies, you’re certain to have an unforgettable experience.

With decades of experience in the region, our local travel experience provider has created itineraries that highlight the best of the waterways and islands of Patagonia. You can elect to sail with them for an entire week or on our 3 and 4 night one way itineraries from Punta Arenas (Chile) or Ushuaia (Argentina) — on round trip journeys that land you back in the same port where you started or straight-line itineraries that start at one city and end at the other. In addition, they feature a special land-and-sea itinerary that entails a drive across Tierra del Fuego (and its king penguin colony) and a cruise back through the archipelago. No matter which trip you choose, each and every Australis cruise blends Patagonia’s incredible scenery and wildlife with on-board pleasures like gourmet cuisine, interesting presentations and comfy cabins. Shore landings are carried out in well-equipped Zodiacs and led by guides who are experts on the region’s flora, fauna, geology and human history. A true once-in-a-lifetime gem!

"Australis takes you on an amazing journey to the “uttermost end of the earth” on modern expedition cruise ships that ply the untamed wonderland at the bottom end of South America. Patagonian nature is on full display as we navigate the legendary Strait of Magellan, Cape Horn and the remote islands of Tierra del Fuego on voyages that take you to places that only around a thousand people visit each year. Follow in the footsteps of Magellan, Drake and Darwin as you hike secluded beaches, listen to groaning glaciers, explore the lush sub-polar forest, discover elephant seals, penguins and other native creatures, and glimpse what the earth must have been like before human beings."

“All outside cabins with large pictures windows. All-inclusive cruise pricing (excludes gratuitIes). Unique dry landings make excursions easier to access. Knowledgeable guides enhance your daily excursions and activities. We are the only ones who disembark at Cape Horn.”

Depending on which route you select and which trip length ( 4 nights one-way or 8 night round-trip), you will visit iconic places such as Ushuaia, Punta Arenas, Ainsworth Bay, Tuckers Islets, Pia Glacier, Glacier Alley, Cape Horn, Wulaia Bay, Garibaldi Glacier, Condor Glacier, Aguila Glacier and Magdalena Island.

About Experience Provider

World Oyster Travel

World Oyster Travel, an affiliate of Departure Lounge, is owned and operated by Marilen Rose. A native of Chile, Marilen moved to the United States over 25 years ago. While growing up in her native land, her family moved back and forth across the country several times. The exposure to Chile's vastly different landscapes from the desert to the sea and the unique ways of living adopted by the locals not cultivated the crucial life-skill of adaptation, but also a desire and need within Rose to always be open-minded, to make human connections by seeking and holding what is common to us all, to stay flexible and welcoming by experiencing new ways of daily living, and to be a lifetime learner.

When Marilen first moved to the United States she had to first learn the new, local language and, after moving temporarily to another continent altogether, she came back and earned a degree in Psychology. In between those years, she had also spent time studying and living in the Canary Islands in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Spain, where she got her first college degree in Tourism Business Management. Combining the two degrees with her lifetime experiences, she has now come full circle in her career.

"I loved learning about the travel and hospitality industry and my heart was also full from spending quality time in other countries and learning to live life like the locals do. It was a transformational experience and I decided I would one day enable others to enjoy their own travel experiences."

"I'm passionately sharing my own experience and inspiring others to have a deeply grounding and revitalizing experience or vastly enjoy an unforgettable journey, with each and every trip. I have visited many countries in North, Central and South America, Europe and Africa and have lived in 3 different countries in different continents. I’m equally fluent in English and Spanish, can have basic conversations with people speaking Portuguese and Italian, and I have many friends all over the world. My main objective is to help you find trips that are a perfect match to what you are looking for or are curious about, have access to special additions, upgrades, amenities or enhancements with the best that the local destination has to offer, and for you to come back home with a unique experience that will forever live in your memory. What better gift can there be than an experience of a lifetime!”

“My favorite trips to plan are expeditions, unique local adventures and experiences, family reunions and special celebrations, food and wine experiences, transformational or balancing retreats, snow and mountain sports, destination weddings and elopements, honeymoons and anniversaries, women trips, men trips, and trips to learn skills from the origin or hub (cooking, cycling, survival, motorcycle, wine-making, sustainability, homesteading, etc.) My favorite destinations to send travelers to are Patagonia, Iceland, Spain, Italy, Scandinavia, UK, and North, Central and South America. I am also a Virtuoso Family Travel and Australis Cruise Specialist (Patagonia region.)”

In her occasional free time, Marilen prefers to stay active, spend time outdoors and quality time with her family, reconnect with old friends or make new ones, networking with other entrepreneurs, constantly learning more about holistic health and wellness, designing and planning life-changing experiences and retreats, attending live music shows and festivals, and she's also been known to enjoy knitting, cooking, wine-tasting and playing tennis and basketball when the opportunity presents itself.
