Volunteer with Great Gorilla Project

Africa stirs up colorful emotions in me. Although its vibrancy has only lived in my imagination (through photographs I have seen, books I have read, and travelogues and stories I have heard from friends who have visited), I often visit this Africa of my imagination in my dreams at night.

Homesteading on “ The Farm”

Having lived in Hawaii for the last 12 years, I have learned first-hand the value of living sustainably, including organic gardening and farming practices, and utilizing sheep and goats in permaculture practices. However, I would like to deepen my knowledge and practice of permaculture design, beekeeping, and learn about building sustainable housing structures using local materials. Therefore, for my next Christmas present, I am asking for paid tuition to the full-immersion residency program at “ The Farm” . Only $200 per week includes all food, lodging, classroom, and hands-on instruction.

Be one with nature and learn to survive!

I've done a good share of outdoors activities and I love the adventure, challenge and the serenity our Mother Nature provides. The more I get out, the more I want to stay out! And the more I do this, the more fascinated I become with safety and survival. The best part of being outdoors is experiencing the wilderness; being somewhere humans rarely go and see the nature and wildness people rarely get to see. But with this comes great risk. I am always conscious of this and I am always grateful when I am able to come home safely.

Make Wine like an Argentine!

I've loved the taste and complexity of wine for many years now and have a glass with dinners quite regularly. Although I've enjoyed a wide variety of wines in the US, when I tasted the wines of Argentina, it opened up a whole new world for me! The deep, rich, tannin-y flavor...I couldn't get enough!

Feel the passion of Mexican Cuisine with Chef Ana during Dia de Los Muertos

I really cannot eat enough Mexican cuisine. I love it! It's more than the food; it's the passion and love of the chef and culture that pours and seeps into the food. Each bite satiates the soul and brings a warm smile to my face. It's like it's saying to me, “Everything is going to be alright.” :)
